    Resize Active Screens

The key combination I use the most is the Window Logo and the arrow keys. It will automatically resize the active screen. For instance, if I press Logo + right arrow, it will place the screen on the right and be half of the screen. This came in handy for users who happen to have two monitors and want to automatically resize the window without having to use the arrows. It really is quite fun - beats trying to find the edge and drag to fit.

    Electronic Discovery – Indexing

The term “processing” encompasses many steps, which can make it one of the most difficult topics to teach in litigation support. Indexing is another step in the “processing” stage and it is one of the steps that can take some time to complete, depending on the volume of data that needs to be indexed. In simple terms, the indexing process will go grab every word in every document and then generate a list of those words, sorted in alphanumeric order. This facilitates fast and more accurate information retrieval when we perform a full-text search across all of the documents in the database.

How to Import Your Facebook Contacts In to Gmail

Friends to Gmail (directory app) is a web application that you can use to convert your Facebook friends list into a nice, Gmail-compatible CSV file. Once created, you can import this file right into Gmail and all of your friends’ information, like names, locations, birthdays, bios, work history, and hometowns, will be added to your contacts for you. The app asks for permissions to retrieve this type of information from your Facebook account, but since all of the work is done within the browser, Friends to Gmail’s servers never actually “download” anything, which should alleviate any privacy concerns you may have about the app.

    Electronic Discovery – Culling

Simply defined, “culling” means creating a subset of documents from a larger dataset. Typically, the most common usage, within the electronic discovery workflow, for “culling” to take place, is after we have collected a bunch of data and before we begin a document review. The goal is to reduce the volume of documents we need to review for production, aka the document review stage. However, we also perform a “culling” process at any point during the discovery process when we start with a larger set of documents and eventually end up with a smaller subset of documents that are the most helpful.
