Why Choose CaseFleet for Case Management?

CaseFleet strives to do less of the things that don’t matter and more of the things that actually help lawyers better run their practice and manage their cases. CaseFleet has invested heavily in a feature they call Timelines. This tools allows you to track the relevant details of a case - dates, times, locations, etc - and link them to contacts, plus tag entries to allow for search of specific types of entries. In a single case with dozens of witnesses and hundreds of facts, you can prepare for a deposition on the fly by viewing all facts associated with a witness by simply clicking on the witness's name.

    AbacusLaw - Practice Management Software

AbacusLaw is a good fit for firms that want an all-in-one solution with access to a private cloud server and desktop software. It’s also great for firms that need a wide range of seamless features like contract management, billing, calendar, client history, and more. However, it’s probably not a good fit for firms looking to work directly from a fully functioning mobile app (although AbacusLaw does have a responsive website).

Tools of the Trade – FTK Imager

During the data collection process, the technicians may use EnCase software to collect a forensic image of a computer. That Encase image data may land on your desk. The EnCase software is an expensive software purchase for a law firm that doesn't have litigation support staff that specializes in forensic collections. However, there is a workaround. The free FTK Imager software will view the EnCase image and even provide the ability to extract files from the image. Be careful when you download the FTK Imager software — do not confuse it with the Forensic Toolkit (FTK) software.

    Electronic Discovery – Custodians

One of the terms we use when working with electronic discovery is the term “custodian”. At the beginning of an electronic discovery matter, the attorneys will work closely with the client to identify key witnesses that have knowledge about documents that could be responsive to the document requests received from opposing counsel or investigative counsel. The individuals with specific knowledge about these certain documents will be identified and then the individuals who are in possession of these documents, as well as e-mail communications about these documents, will be identified as “custodians of data”.
